Alabama quarterback commit Trent Seaborn etched his name in AHSAA history on Friday, Sept. 4.
The Thompson (Ala.) signal caller, who was named to USA TODAY Sports Southeast Region ALL-USA team in the preseason, set the AHSAA career passing yardage record during the second half against Vestavia Hills. The previous record was held by Piedmont's Jack Hayes (2018-22) with 11,024 yards.

Seaborn entered Friday's contest needing just 257 yards to pass Hayes for the career record. He got the majority of his work done in the first half, completing 16-of-19 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns to help Thompson jump out to a 28-0 halftime lead.
On
the second play of the third quarter, Seaborn broke the career passing yards record and was immediately taken out of the game. He finished the day 18-of-21 (86%) for 264 yards and three touchdowns.
The four-star Alabama commit has also won three state championships during his illustrious high school career and holds the Class 7A Super 7 State Championship record of five touchdowns in a game.
Thompson, which ranks No. 10 in the latest USA TODAY Sports Super 25 rankings, earned the 49-0 victory over Vestavia Hills.
