A goalkeeping decision and a suspension hang over Bayern Munich ahead of its Champions League match against Arsenal at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, Oct. 21.
The Bavarians are Bundesliga leaders and unbeaten in their first six league games, having beaten RB Leipzig 6-1 at the weekend.
Midfielder Michael Olise is suspended after his red card against Viking and Jamal Musiala is still sidelined with a muscle tear. Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer and defender Joshua Kimmich are still unavailable, and even head coach Vincent Kompany is questionable due to a viral infection.
Here is how Bayern Munich could line up against Arsenal:
Bayern Munich predicted lineup vs. Arsenal
- Goalkeeper: Urbig
- Defense: Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Brown
- Midfield: Pavlović, Kimmich
- Attacking midfield: Karl, Saibari, Díaz
- Forward: Kane
Lennart Karl is the probable replacement for Olise on the right wing. Goalkeeper Jonas Urbig has played the past two games in the starting
line-up and would likely start again if Neuer isn't fully fit.
Bayern Munich team news vs. Arsenal
- Out: Musiala
- Questionable: Neuer, Kimmich
- Suspended: Olise
Will Manuel Neuer play vs. Arsenal?
Neuer has missed Bayern's last two matches with a foot problem but returned to training this week. Urbig held his own in the 6-1 win over Leipzig, so there's no need to rush the veteran back.
Assistant coach Aaron Danks, who handled Tuesday's press conference in Kompany's place, said the call would come on matchday."We haven't made the decision yet," said Danks.
