Bring on the elite.
The fourth season of "The Gilded Age" is returning to HBO Max ahead of the holiday season. According to the show's logline, "Bertha Russell changed Society at a cost. Now, her family must reckon with the consequences as Agnes van Rhijn seizes an opportunity to regain her position," referencing two beloved matriarchs on the show played by Carrie Coon and Christine Baranski.
The description continued with what's next for other main characters: "Meanwhile, Marian forges a new path for herself, and Peggy works to be accepted by her future in-laws. In this new era, you must be careful what you wish for."

When does ‘The Gilded Age’ Season 4 premiere?
“The Gilded Age” is set to premiere on Sunday, Nov. 1 on HBO and HBO Max at 9 p.m. ET. This season consists of eight episodes.
What can fans expect from ‘The Gilded Age’?

Salli Richardson-Whitfield, one of the show’s directors, spoke about how the character Peggy, played by Denée Benton, evolves throughout the season. “You really get to see the growth of Peggy as a leader in her community…not just her small community but in the Black community as a large,” Richardson-Whitfield shared at CultureCon on Sunday, Oct. 4. “Her writing becomes deeper and speaks to bigger subjects of the world. By the time we get to the end of the season, she has been given an important role in history.”
Fans can also expect more "a little more romance, a little more kissing, and a little more of (the characters) living a full life," she added. The show will also continue to explore themes around race.
“We jumped into the idea of colorism a little bit last year. I think we get to really jump into that a lot more,” the director continued, stating that the show will also touch on historically Black organizations like Jack and Jill and The Links. "We get to explore that this season, which is really fun."
