St. John's Prep ultimately needed a late push to survive. Senior running back Maxwell Parent powered the decisive 87-yard drive, carrying the ball six consecutive times before the Eagles

scored the go-ahead touchdown with 27 seconds remaining.

Parent finished with 220 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries as St. John's Prep secured the No. 1 seed in the Division 1 playoffs.

Vargas is one of the headliners of Ohio State's 2028 recruiting class, committing to the Buckeyes on Aug. 8.
