Jay-Z celebrated Beyoncé's birthday in unforgettable fashion, prompting thousands of fans to sing "Happy Birthday" during his first anniversary concert in London.
Beyoncé, who just releasedthe 20th anniversary edition of her sophomore album "B'Day," sat in the crowd as her husband performed onstage at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on her birthday Sept. 4 as a part of his"Jay-Z 30" concert series.
Toward the end of the show, Jay-Z told the crowd, "It's the 20-year anniversary of B'Day," sending fans into a frenzy. Joking that he didn’t want Beyoncé to have to work on her birthday, he instead asked the audience to sing "Happy Birthday."

Earlier in the night, a video of Beyoncé doing Jay-Z's hair in a stadium played on the screen and the crowd went wild in anticipation.
The string of shows commemorates the 30th anniversary of his debut album "Reasonable Doubt," released June 25, 1996. He's also celebrating the 25th anniversary of his sixth studio album, "Blueprint," released Sept. 11, 2001. Leading up, fans suspected the Grammy-winning couple might take the stage together to celebrate the culmination of miltesones.
The Sept. 4 London show marks Jay-Z's first solo headline show in the U.K. in more than a decade.

Beyoncé last made a surprise appearance onstage with Jay-Z during his three-night stintin his hometown of New York City July 10 to July 12.The first night Beyoncé joined him onstage. On the third anniversary show, the rapper delivered a star-studded concert featuring surprise appearances from Rihanna, Swizz Beatz, Jeezy, Beyoncé, Fat Joe and others.
When did Beyoncé and Jay-Z last perform in London?
The "I Know" rapper's last headline solo performance in the U.K. was Oct. 2013, when he took the stage at The O2 in London as part of his Magna Carta World Tour.
Meanwhile, "Morning Dew" singerlast performed at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on her "Cowboy Carter and Rodeo Chitlin' Circuit Tour" last June. She took the stage for a total of six nights and made it clear she loves London.
"I don't want to go home," she said before her final "Cowboy Carter" performance at the stadium. Thank you, London. We've been having such great shows here. Thank y'all so much."
She doubled down after the show, hinting at going on tour again and returning to London for it. In an Instagram post, she wrote "Thank you, London, for creating unforgettable memories for me and my family. Holla at 'ya when I come on tour again!"
While Jay-Z did not join Beyoncé onstage during the London shows in 2025, he made a surprise appearance onstage with his wife a few days later during her Paris stop along her "Cowboy Carter" tour.
Jay-Z is set to take the stage again in London on Sept. 5 before performing Paris on Sept. 10. He is also scheduled to perform and in Los Angeles on Oct. 23 and Oct. 24.
