Miami hit 100 degrees on Tuesday afternoon, which tied an 84-year-old record, and South Florida is under a heat advisory yet again today.
Since 1895, Miami has only reached 100 degrees one other time — in 1942.
Miami-Dade County, Broward County and Palm Beach County are all covered under the Aug. 19 heat advisory, according to the National Weather Service office Miami, which will last from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Maximum heat indices will range from 105 to 112 degrees today.
The NWS recommends staying hydrated, limiting "strenuous time outdoors in the afternoon," using air conditioning if you have it and wearing lightweight, light-colored clothing.

Miami: A high near 94, with heat index values as high as 109.
Fort Lauderdale: A high near 96, with index
values as high as 110.
West Palm Beach: A high near 91, with heat index values as high as 106.
