Do you want to live in a pineapple under the sea and become the king of the pirates? Well, McDonald's latest collab with "SpongeBob SquarePants" and "One Piece" might be something you want.
The fast-food chain is teaming up with one of the most popular anime in the world and one of the most popular cartoons in the world to bring its the SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal to life, according to a news release on McDonald's Menu Spotter website.
"For the first time ever, two of the most iconic franchises of the ocean are coming together for one treasure-filled adventure," according to the news release.
This latest collaboration comes on the heels of a Hello Kitty x Godzilla Happy Meal, which was unveiled at McDonald's and became available Aug. 18. It
includes eight toys showcasing Hello Kitty characters and monsters from the Godzilla movies.

What do the toys look like in the SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal?
The Happy Meal will be available starting on Tuesday, Sept. 15. The collection will include 15 toys from McDonald's Happy Meals. The toys can be found at participating McDonald's locations.
Promotional material of the toys shows "SpongeBob SquarePants" characters dressed as pirates from the famous Japanese anime, "One Piece," including the following:
- SpongeBob: Dressed as Monkey D. Luffy
- SpongeBob (two SpongeBob toys will be included in the collection): Dressed as Gear 5 Luffy
- Patrick: Dressed as Roronoa Zoro
- Sandy: Dressed as Nami
- Plankton: Dressed as Usopp
- Squidward: Dressed as Sanji
- Pearl: Dressed as Robin
- Larry the Lobster: Dressed as Franky
- Smitty Werbenjagermanjensen: Dressed as Brooke
- Mr. Krabs: Dressed as Jinbe
Both franchises have had previous collabs with restaurant chains
In April, Popeyes unveiled a meal and sold merchandise inspired by the iconic anime. The menu introduced a meal, which included the chain's signature chicken, lemonade and dessert inspired by "One Piece" characters.
The brand also held a giveaway on the day it debuted the meal, giving away reusable One Piece x Popeyes bento boxes at participating locations.
Last December, SpongeBob fans got to enjoy a meal from Burger King which to promote "The SpongeBob Movie: Search For Squarepants". In 2024, there was also a Krusty Kollab Meal available at Wendy's.
Details on the popular franchises 'One Piece', 'SpongeBob'
"One Piece" is a Japanese comic book, also known as a manga, created by Eiichiro Oda in 1997. Since its publication, it has been translated into multiple languages, including English. A Japanese animated series (anime), which premiered in 1999, a Netflix live-action adaptation and multiple movies have also been created based on the manga.
In March 2026, Crunchyroll announced that the "One Piece" comic has sold over 600 million copies, surpassing Superman and becoming the best-selling comic book of all time.
Oda is the eighth best-selling author of all time, and sits behind J. K. Rowling, who sold 600 to 650 million copies of the "Harry Potter" novels, according to Crunchyroll. Oda is also the only Japanese author and the second non-English-language author listed in the top 10.
Similarly, "SpongeBob SquarePants" is a children's cartoon that first premiered on Nickelodeon in 1999, according to IMDB. The cartoon has won over 60 awards, including Daytime Emmy Awards, Teen Choice Awards, ASCAP Film and Television Music Awards and more. It has also received 70 nominations.
Multiple movies, spin-off TV shows and children's books have also been created based on the cartoon.
