North Crowley won 47-30 as the team rushed for 293 yards, more than Duncanville's total yard marker of 282 yards.
North Texas commit G'Yrell Smith was the star of the first half, rushing for three touchdowns on his first four carries and finishing the half with 156 yards on seven total carries. He got started with a bang, a 78-yard touchdown on his first touch of the night.
He finished the game with 170 yards on 17 carries, according to the Dallas Morning News. The 5-foot-8 running back committed to North Texas in June, according to 247Sports,
and has nine total offers. He rushed for 1,115 yards and 21 touchdowns on 149 carries last season, per the recruiting outlet.
Smith was one of two heads on the Super 25-rankedNorth Crowley rushing attack on Friday night. Fellow three-star running back Kiante Ingram had 23 carries, rushing for 109 yards and a pair of scores, one of which was a first-half run of one yard that tied the game at 28 and the second was a third-quarter score that gave North Crowley some breathing room.
Ingram had 612 yards and 13 touchdowns last year, according to 247Sports.
With the success on the ground, QB Jacob Torres attempted just 15 passes, but completed 12 of them for 219 yards. Four-star junior WR Damarion Mays caught both touchdown passes, and Pryce Demerson led the team with six receptions.
