Social media is not letting up on Donald Trump Jr. after he mistakenly claimed Democrats could make Ohio a state.
"They want to pack the Supreme Court; they want to make Ohio a state, make DC a state," Trump said during Vice President JD Vance's rally in Toledo on Nov. 2.
Attorney Aaron Parnas posted a video of the comment to Threads, which, as of Nov. 3, has more than 3,000 comments.
"Imagine if Ohio became a state. Don't worry, he'll find something else really stupid to say before it's all over with," the top comment on the post reads.

Donald Trump Jr.'s blunder prompts sarcastic responses
Many have responded to President Donald Trump's eldest son's blunder with sarcasm.
"Honestly making it a state would be a terrible idea tbh (to be honest)," one Reddit user posted in the r/politics subreddit. "What
would you even call people from a theoretical state of Ohio? 'Ohioans'? The whole idea is preposterous," another wrote.
One TikTok creator posted a video on Nov. 3 reacting to news footage of an Ohio voter speaking about Election Day.
"I'm sorry, I'm a little confused. How y'all out there voting and Ohio's not even a state according to Donald Jr.? How y'all voting? Is this election fraud?" the creator said before laughing. "I'm just kidding. Y'all, get out and vote now!"
How long has Ohio been a state?
Ohio has been a state for the past two centuries. It became the 17th state admitted into the United States in 1803, according to Ohio History Connection.
However, Ohio was not officially admitted into the Union until 1953, after researchers noticed that Congress had never passed a final, formal vote specifically ratifying Ohio's 1802 constitution. Former President Dwight D. Eisenhower signed the resolution on Aug. 7, 1953, officially ratifying the constitution and backdating Ohio's statehood to March 1, 1803, according to the U.S. House's History, Art and Archives.
