Noah Kahan is pumping the brakes on the White House's embrace of his music.
The Grammy-nominated singer slammed the Trump administration for using his song "American Cars," taken from his latest album "The Great Divide," in a recent social media post of President Donald Trump.
The post featured several images and video of the president during his visit to a General Motors facility
in Milford, Michigan, on Monday, July 27."Nothing like American cars," the White House captioned a TikTok video of President Trump signing a Corvette at the facility.
After several fans called out the White House for using Kahan's song to promote the president's Michigan stop, Kahan weighed in with a criticism of his own Tuesday, July 28. "Would never approve of my music
being used in support of you or this administration," the singer wrote in an Instagram comment.

Kahan's song appeared in posts on both the White House's Instagram and TikTok pages, but the audio has since been removed from the Instagram post.
USA TODAY has reached out to the White House for comment.
Kahan joins a growing chorus of artists who've protested the use of their music by the White House, including Sabrina Carpenter, Ariana Grande, Kesha and Katy Perry.
Perry, whose song "Firework" was used in a July 23 video showing U.S. military strikes in Iran, blasted the White House days later over its use of her early 2010s hit, saying she was "deeply appalled and angry."
"I wrote this song to be an anthem of hope, healing and inner strength for people going through their darkest personal moments. To see a message of self-worth and upliftment weaponized to soundtrack destruction and violence is a complete violation of everything my song stands for," Perry wrote. "My music is for bringing people together, not celebrating warfare."
