The Milwaukee Brewers' magic number is down to two. That means two Milwaukee wins + Chicago Cubs losses and the Brewers will officially clinch the National League Central division title. The team has already clinched a playoff spot and postseason tickets are available now.
This is the second consecutive year that Brewers fans have enjoyed such impressive play from Milwaukee. In 2025, the Brewers finished with a 97-65 record, the best in baseball. The team currently has 93 wins with 12 games to go, and a real shot at hitting 100 wins for the first time in franchise history.
The Brewers defeated the Chicago Cubs in the NLDS in 2025, before losing to the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NLCS. If there's
a rematch, there's a grudge and I know I'm not alone in hoping for a different outcome this time around.
Below, we'll breakdown everything you need to know about the Milwaukee Brewers postseason scenarios—including how to buy Brewers playoff tickets:

Milwaukee Brewers playoff scenarios
As of publication, the Milwaukee Brewers have officially clinched a playoff spot. While the team hasn't officially clinched the NL Central division, it feels inevitable. The Brewers have a 10 game lead over the Chicago Cubs with 12 games left and they aren't going to lose 12 straight games (sorry, Cubs fans). As one of the top seeds in the National League, the Brewers currently lead the Atlanta Braves by five games to remain in the top-two, Milwaukee will earn a bye straight to the NLDS, which means the team will have home-field advantage in the best-of-five series.
Tickets are available for potential wild card games, should the Brewers land there. But, because of the probability, we're just going to skip right to the NLDS.

Note: Keep in mind, these are still potential playoff scenarios, but if you purchase tickets and the game does not happen, StubHub refunds your purchase.
While their opponent is still to be determined, the Brewers are likely just days away from officially clinching the NL Central title. Once they do, Milwaukee will only have a little more work to clinch a bye to the NLDS, which means the team will host Games 1, 2 and a Game 5, if necessary.

Should the Brewers make the World Series for the first time in more than 40 years, they will also have good shot to host the first games in that series. That's not confirmed yet, but if they finish the regular season with the best record in baseball, they would host Games 1, 2 and hypothetical Games 6 and 7.
