Two days after it fired its coach, Florida State football lost arguably its best player.
Seminoles wide receiver Duce Robinson will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL in his team's 36-24 Week 9 loss to Clemson.
The news was confirmed by the Tallahassee Democrat, a part of the USA TODAY Network, after being first reported by ESPN.
The 6-foot-6 Robinson is the leading receiver for what's been a solid Florida State offense this season, with 24 catches for 438 yards and four touchdowns. The preseason All-ACC selection had 1,081 receiving yards and six touchdowns as a junior in 2025, after which he put off the NFL draft to return to school for a final season.
Robinson did not play in the second half of the loss to Clemson
and was seen without a helmet walking gingerly on the team's sideline.
It's the latest setback for a Seminoles offense that had already lost star running back Ousmane Kromah for the season after he suffered a gruesome-looking ankle injury in a double-overtime loss at rival Miami on Oct. 17.
The Robinson news comes fewer than 48 hours after Florida State head coach Mike Norvell was fired eight games into his seventh season at the school. After an undefeated regular season and an ACC championship in 2023, the Seminoles are just 10-22 since the start of the 2024 season.
