The Atlanta Falcons and New Orleans Saints are rekindling their rivalry in a Week 4 "Monday Night Football" game that will determine which will be atop the NFC South one month into the 2026 NFL season.
The Saints have gotten off to a strong start offensively, as Tyler Shough entered Week 4 as the NFL's passing leader. The second-year quarterback has shown excellent growth in Kellen Moore's offense while top receiver Chris Olave and stud tight end Juwan Johnson have each enjoyed high-quality starts to the season.
Despite this, the Saints enter Week 4 with a losing record (1-2). That's by virtue of a couple of close losses to the Detroit Lions (in overtime) and the Las Vegas Raiders (by one possession in a high-scoring game).
New Orleans will look
to play better on defense as it faces a resurgent Atlanta squad that overcame early-season offensive struggles in a Week 3 upset of the Green Bay Packers. The Falcons' first win coincided with third-year quarterback Michael Penix Jr.'s return to the lineup, which unlocked the playmaking potential of both star wide receiver Drake London and dynamic, three-down running back Bijan Robinson.
Will Penix continue to elevate Atlanta's ceiling, or will New Orleans find a way to slow down the Falcons and capitalize on what figures to be an emotionally charged environment at the Superdome on Monday night?

- Saints 27, Falcons 23: "The Falcons might have a resurgent offense with Michael Penix Jr. under center and Bijan Robinson running wild, but don't discount this Saints offense either. Tyler Shough is spinning it for an explosive unit, even if it stalled late in Week 3. Unlike the Packers, the Saints are positioned to exploit some of the Falcons' weaknesses on defense to win on an emotional night in the dome." – Nick Brinkerhoff
