For the first time in men's soccer, national teams are heading into a quadruple matchday. Most international teams will play four matches across September and October instead of the usual two per month as FIFA works to reduce the impact of international windows on the club calendars.
That includes some of Europe's top teams, as the UEFA Nations League group stage returns.
Every team is trying to turn the page on the 2026 World Cup and start the drive to the 2028 Euros and the 2030 World Cup with success - most blending experience with some up-and-comers they hope will be the cornerstones to success in the next four years.
Who got the call? Who is at home? Let's take a look at some of the rosters that have been announced:
France national team roster for UEFA Nations League
This is the first call-up
for Zinedine Zidane as France manager, with the national team moving on from Didier Deschamps after falling in the semifinals of the 2026 World Cup.
Zidane has called in six new faces, including Rennes forward Esteban Lepaul. Lepaul topped Ligue 1 in scoring last season, but in 2024 was playing in the third division with Epinal.
Liverpool defender Jeremy Jacquet and Inter Milan defender And Diouf are in line for their first France caps as well, but Zidane also has familiar stars including Kylian Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Michael Olise in the attack.
France faces Turkey, Belgium, Italy and Belgium once again during this window.

Spain national team roster for UEFA Nations League
The world champion is largely keeping things the same, as would be expected. Manager Luis de la Fuente has a contract extension, and after seeing off Argentina in extra time to lift a second World Cup, he is keeping his core together.
Rodri, Pedri and Lamine Yamal are, of course, present with only four players from the 2026 World Cup triumph not present for this roster: Marcos Llorente, Joan García, Gavi and Borja Iglesias. Dean Huijsen, the Netherlands-born defender, and Fermin Lopez are among the players recalled after missing out on the World Cup squad.

After finishing in third at the 2026 World Cup, England will get a crack at the current champion with a Sept. 26 match against Spain at Wembley Stadium. Perhaps with that in mind, England manager Thomas Tuchel has maintained much of the team he fielded at the 2026 World Cup, adding new faces in the attack including Liverpool youngster Rio Ngumoha and bringing in Chelsea's Cole Palmer after he missed out on the summer roster.

Netherlands national team roster for UEFA Nations League
After the surprise appointment of Spanish coach Xavi, the Netherlands will begin its new era with games against Germany, Serbia and Greece.
Xavi has moved on from some of the veteran players who were part of a disappointing 2026 World Cup, with all-time leading scorer Memphis Depay among the omissions.
Feyenoord's up-and-coming attacker Gjivai Zechiël and PSV's Ruben van Bommel both are included and looking for their first-ever senior national team caps. Many fans also hoped to see Feyenoord's No. 10 Luciano Valente in the squad, but he is absent for this roster.

Portugal national team roster for UEFA Nations League
Cristiano Ronaldo is back. Despite a new Portugal manager, Ronaldo's former club manager Jorge Jesus included the 41-year-old on the first squad he has named as national team coach.
"His performance is what matters. The past doesn't count," Jesus said at a news conference. "In this squad, there are 13 players who have worked with me. I don't have a set core, so within this group, there were several players who were important for this squad."
