Texas is among 26 states affected by Taylor Farms' recall of jalapeños products due to concerns about possible salmonella contamination.
Taylor Farms said in an Aug. 9 statement that the recalled products were sold in several states and distributed to major grocers such as Target, Walmart and Whole Foods.
This latest recall comes after the company recalled lettuce linked to reports of cyclosporiasis, a condition that causes "explosive diarrhea," earlier in the summer.
The Aug. 9 recall is tied to fresh jalapeños supplied by Coast Citrus Distributors, with a grower in Sinaloa, Mexico, that supplies Coast Citrus identified as a potential source of the outbreak.
"Taylor Fresh Foods is no longer sourcing products from this farmer and will be filling
orders from alternative suppliers," the company said on its website.
Taylor Farms added that it is not aware of any illnesses linked to its products containing the recalled jalapeños.

Across the nation, 20 products are being recalled, with 16 sold in Texas grocery stores. Here is a list of the recalled products:
Consumers who have any recalled products should discard them immediately and not consume them. Refunds are available at the location of purchase and consumers with any questions may contact Taylor Farms at 855-455-0098.
Salmonella symptoms
Most people with Salmonella infection have the following, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention:
- Watery diarrhea that might have blood or mucus
- Stomach cramps that can be severe
Some people also have
- Headache
- Nausea
- Vomiting
- Loss of appetite (not feeling hungry)
Symptoms usually start 6 hours to 6 days after infection and usually last 4 to 7 days.
When to call the doctor due to Salmonella
People should call the doctor according to the CDC if they experience the following:
- Diarrhea or vomiting lasting more than 2 days
- Bloody poop (including diarrhea) or pee
- A fever higher than 102°F
- Signs of dehydration
- Little or no peeing
- Having very dark pee
- Being very thirsty
- Having a dry mouth or throat
- Feeling dizzy or lightheaded
- Crying without tears.
Why is Taylor Farms facing scrutiny over a cyclosporiasis outbreak?
On July 17, Taylor Farms issued a voluntary recall of iceberg lettuce products as a result of the cyclosporiasis (the “explosive diarrhea”) outbreak and investigation, which initially linked the illnesses to lettuce from Taylor Farms de Mexico sold, in part, through Taco Bell locations in five states.
Taylor Farms is the “leading global producer of salads and healthy fresh foods,” according to its website, with facilities in the United States, Mexico, Canada and Europe.
