If there's one team in the NFL that needs a week of rest and relaxation, it's the San Francisco 49ers.
Kyle Shanahan's team is battling a lengthy list of injuries again this season. But despite that, San Francisco has raced out to a 6-1 start, suffering its first loss in Week 7 before heading into their bye week. The shorthanded Niners were defeated by the Atlanta Falcons, but now the team can reset.
Even with the injuries, Brock Purdy is playing at an MVP level. Christian McCaffrey is still up to his usual antics and George Kittle remains one of the elite tight ends in the sport.
Perhaps no player, at least at the moment, is more valuable than Mike Evans – who is holding the receiver room together as best he can. The veteran sat out Week 7 with
a rib and Achilles issue, but figures to be in line for a return coming out of the bye.
Shanahan's crew is still in a great spot to win the NFC West, holding a two-game lead over the Seattle Seahawks. Here's a look at what awaits San Francisco in Week 8.
