Montverde Academy continued its hot start to the 2026 high school volleyball season with two wins in its last two matches.
The Eagles moved to 4-1 on the season and are riding a three-match winning streak following wins over Winter Park (Sept. 1) and Mount Dora (Sept. 8).
Montverde returns to action on Tuesday, Sept. 15, against New Smyrna Beach, when the school will also celebrate senior night. The Eagles take on DeLand on Wednesday, Sept. 16, before playing in the Florida Gem High School Classic at Wesley Chapel on Friday, Sept. 18 and Saturday, Sept. 19.

Montverde 3, Winter Park 2
Despite falling behind after the first and third sets, Montverde rallied in the fourth and fifth sets to earn the 3-2
(16-25, 25-23, 20-25, 25-18, 15-9) at home on Tuesday, Sept. 1, in a match that featured 31 ties and 15 lead changes.
While the first four sets were back-and-forth, the Eagles never trailed in the fifth set to earn the victory. Suhmer Henriques led the way for MVA with 12 kills and five digs, while Eva Bardales added 10 kills and six digs. Kristina Vargas finished with a team-high 27 assists and added 13 digs for a double-double and Rosabella Palanti led the defense with 15 digs.
Montverde 3, Mount Dora 0
From start to finish, Montverde dominated Mount Dora in a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20 and 25-21) sweep on Tuesday, Sept. 8. Janiyah Miller, Mya Tyson and Antonella Gonzalez-D'Ambrosio each tallied five kills in a balanced MVA attack.
Miller also added a team-leading four aces and three digs, while Tyson finished with three digs and two blocks, and Gonzalez-D'Ambrosio added two service aces and three digs. Talia Alqawasmi led the Eagles' defense with six digs
