Kansas City Chiefs WR Rashee Rice caught two passes for 19 yards and a touchdown against the Denver Broncos in Week 1. Rice was targeted twice.

Why It Matters: There was a lot of excitement coming into the season about Rice, who has seen his last two seasons ruined by injuries and off-the-field issues. This wasn't the start fantasy owners were hoping for. With Patrick Mahomes looking rusty, especially on downfield throws, Rice was targeted only twice, salvaging a bit of fantasy value when he broke tackles and turned a quick hitter into a 13-yard touchdown. While it was a tough way to open the season, Rice should eventually become Mahomes' top weapon on the outside, which is a role that could produce considerable value. You might want
to view Rice as a WR3 in the short term, but there's at least WR2 potential over the long haul.
