Country music star Tyler Hubbard's recent camping trip came with an unexpected, painful catch.
Hubbard, 39, found himself postponing breakfast until his wife Hayley could get a fishing hook dislodged from the back of his head. The Florida Georgia Line frontman shared footage from the harrowing experience with his Instagram followers on July 26.
"I can tell those little barbs really work," Hayley said. "I'm just going to get my bearings here, OK. Are there any tricks to this?"
Hayley was calm and collected as she inspected the wound and tried to work out how to remove the hook, offering reassurance to her husband throughout the removal process. The singer-songwriter didn’t explain how the hook became lodged.
The couple's children also threw out some
comforting words as their mother worked: "Dad, just don't think about it. Mom is just going to pull it right away."
The "Meant to Be" singer was granted relief when Hayley used a pair of pliers to remove the hook after a couple of unsuccessful attempts. Hubbard and his family can be heard exhaling as soon as the hook was dislodged.

The Hubbard family didn't let the fishhook situation get them down. Hayley made light of the situation in a July 27 Instagram video with the caption, "next time we’ll try to avoid fishhooks in the head."
"We got 4 days off with @tylerhubbard in the middle of this crazy summer and decided to go camping in the airstream," she wrote.
Hayley shared various moments from the family's camping trip, writing that "all the memories made were worth the shlepping and loading up and unpacking and fun that comes along with camping."
The impromptu trip came days after Hubbard teased more reunion plans with former Florida Georgia Line bandmate Brian Kelley.
"I would say we’ve got some things in the works for next year. We’re excited," Hubbard recently told Chicago’s US99 country radio station. Hubbard revealed in the interview that he'd "been hanging out" with Kelley recently and was "having a good time."
“We’re kind of itching to get back on stage, so we’ll probably put some shows together next year. That’s about as much as we’ve planned at this point. We’re both excited. It’s gonna be a fun year next year," he added.
The duo split in 2022 after more than a decade of releasing music together but have reunited for a couple of performances in recent months, including at CMA Fest in June.
