Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts' blood clotting issue could keep him out more long-term.
Hurts' agent, Nicole Lynn, shared in a statement on Monday, Oct. 19 that further imaging showed that Hurts had been diagnosed with bilateral pulmonary emboli – meaning the quarterback has blood clots in both lungs. Lynn said he is in stable condition and his treatment will consist of taking blood thinners. As a result, he will be unable to participate in contact activities.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Hurts will miss the rest of the season while recovering.
"Jalen's prognosis is very good, and we expect a full recovery," Lynn wrote in her statement. "We anticipate that he will have the opportunity to resume contact football activities when
off the blood thinners."
