Christmas spirit is in the air which means Spirit Christmas stores are almost back.
Spencer Gifts revealed exclusively to USA TODAY on Thursday, Oct. 8 it will open 44 Spirit Christmas locations across 15 states this holiday season, from New England to Florida and west to the Great Lakes.
The stores, a Christmas spinoff of Spirit Halloween, first opened in 2024 when the company launched eight locations throughout the Northeast. Last year, the store number nearly quadrupled, with 30 stores opening across 12 states.
The company told USA TODAY five stores will open on Saturday, Oct. 17 with grand opening celebrations, with the first 50 customers in the store receiving a surprise. Those five stores include locations in Mays Landing, New Jersey; Riverdale,
New Jersey; Marlton, New Jersey; Winter Garde, Florida; and Youngstown, Ohio.
The remaining 39 stores are scheduled to open in the first week of November after they transition from Spirit Halloween stores, according to a company spokesperson.
"The holidays are so much more than what's under the tree. They're about the traditions families return to year after year and the magic of creating new ones," said Kym Sarkos, executive vice president of Spirit, in a news release. "Spirit Christmas was created to celebrate that feeling."
Shoppers can visit the Spirit Christmas website's store locator to see when and where locations are scheduled to open.
What does Spirit Christmas sell?
The brand touts itself as a "one-stop destination for all things Christmas," including an assortment of holiday decor, inflatables, animatronics, gifts, apparel and stocking stuffers, among other items.
Last year, some locations offered customers the chance to take photos with Santa Claus, however it is currently unclear if that will be an option this year.
