The Indianapolis Colts have been the NFL's most active team leading up to the Nov. 10 trade deadline, but there's one more big name still on the roster who is generating a ton of speculation.
Star running back Jonathan Taylor was expected to stay put when the smoke cleared, but ESPN's Adam Schefter reported
on Saturday, Oct. 31 that the Colts "are now open" to dealing Taylor and "talks are said to be active and ongoing."With that being the case, all eyes will be on Taylor as he prepares for the Colts' Week 8 game at Jacksonville (1 p.m. ET, CBS).
Is Jonathan Taylor going to play for the Colts?
Taylor is expected to be in the starting lineup as the Indianapolis Colts travel to Jacksonville to face the Jaguars in Week 8.
Taylor is off to an excellent start to the 2026 season with 587 rushing yards
on 140 carries in seven games. His eight rushing touchdowns are tied for the league lead, and his 83.9 yards per game rank fifth.
"I haven't heard anything," Taylor told reporters on Thursday, Oct. 29, about a potential trade. "I can't control that. Obviously, you guys know that I'm always proud to wear the horseshoe. I'm always proud to be here. … But obviously, circumstances may cause otherwise. Hopefully that day may not come, but I can't control that."
