Longtime MLS and U.S. men's national team forward Gyasi Zardes has announced his retirement from soccer.
The 35-year-old made the announcement in a post on social media on Monday, Sept. 21.
Zardes played 13 seasons in MLS after signing for the LA Galaxy as a homegrown player ahead of the 2013 campaign.
He would go on to represent the Galaxy, Columbus, Colorado and Austin FC, scoring 106 regular-season goals – good for 10th in league history. Zardes most recently played in 2024 with Austin.

The California native won two MLS Cups, first with the Galaxy in 2014 and then with Columbus in 2020.
Zardes made his USMNT debut in 2014 and would go on to earn 68 caps, scoring 14 goals. His last USMNT appearance came in 2022.
The striker was part of teams that won Gold Cup titles in 2017 and 2021.
