Elmo is spreading extra positivity this Election Day.
"Hi! Elmo doesn't know who needs to hear this today, but remember, Elmo loves you," the "Sesame Street" puppet said in a social media video on Tuesday, Nov. 3.
The final midterm election of President Donald Trump's second term will determine who controls Congress. Trump has called the election the most important of "our lifetime."
Voters react to Elmo's message
Just two hours after the video was posted to Instagram, more than 400 users have commented.
"I needed to hear this today. Thanks, Elmo! I love you," one Instagram user commented. Another said: "Love you back, Elmo! Voting for leaders who love kindness for all children too."
Others took a more humorous
approach.
"Very special message to everyone and everything expect Rocco," the top comment on the post reads, referencing the viral relationship Elmo has with Zoe's pet rock Rocco, who Elmo is not a big fan of.
Elmo has a history of encouraging messages
Elmo posted a similar message on Election Day in 2024.
"Hi friend! Elmo loves you," he wrote in an X post. "And Elmo will remind you every day if you need him to."
Earlier in 2024, the furry red monster asked a simple question to fans, sparking an outpouring of brutally honest answers – but also support.
"Elmo is just checking in! How is everybody doing?" he posted on X. Users were quick to share many of the tough challenges they were facing, such as job loses and election anxiety.
Something beautiful also happened: People felt less alone. "Sesame Street" later shared mental health resources and thanked Elmo for reminding folks "to pause and take a mindful moment to focus on how we're feeling."
