On April 24, Maryland became the 19th state to sanction girls flag football at the high school level – and although this fall may be the state's first official season, it is by no means the start of flag in the state. The sport had already grown into multiple classes before becoming official this spring, with Clarksburg taking last year's 4A-3A championship and Linganore bagging the 2A-1A championship.
Both state champs remain strong heading into this fall, and there's a lot of talent across the board that will be sure to give them trouble on their path to a repeat. Here are the preseason Top 10 Maryland flag football teams:
