Shopping for your book-loving bestie is no easy task. As a book lover myself, I know how hard it can be to shop for a bookworm when you may not be interested in the same genre or just don’t know what they haven’t read. I turned to the ultimate bookworm, author Alissa DeRogatis, for help.

DeRogatis recently released her novel, "How to Find Love in the Cereal Aisle," which follows up-and-coming romance novelist Ainsley Green as she suffers from severe writer's block after her long-term boyfriend breaks her heart and leaves. The author told us her top tips on shopping for booklovers.
Best gifts for book lovers, according to DeRogatis
Refillable Leather Journal
“Hands down my favorite gift for the creative person in your life (especially a writer!) is a refillable leather journal,” DeRogatis said. “I think there's something so special about gifting someone a journal that feels uniquely theirs and the charms make it even more personal!”
Books on DeRogatis' wish list
- "People In Love" by Claire Daverly

How to Shop for Book Lovers
“I always recommend checking their Goodreads Want to Read list to get ideas of titles they're interested in,” the author told USA TODAY.
“Another great option is to research an independent bookseller in their area and either pop in for a gift card or, if you're not local, purchase one online or over the phone. It's important to me to shop small, always but especially around the holidays!”
