Two independent, longstanding Northern California grocery stores were recently named the best in the state. Have you shopped there before?
Love Food, a publication that reviews food, ranks restaurants across the country, and posts recipes and tips, named the best grocery store in each state, but named two for California.
The publication based its selections on user reviews, rewards, and first-hand experience from its team, according to its website.

Love Food's picks included one from the state's capital, Sacramento, and the university town of Berkeley.
Corti Brothers, or Corti Bros., in Sacramento, was named one of California's best. The site credited its continued popularity to a variety of specialty foods, including pomegranate
molasses, candied ginger, and freshly made sandwiches.
The Corti brothers, Gino and Frank, started the store in 1947, according to the store's website. The brothers focused on a diverse product selection, including specialty wines, spirits, and foods from around the world.
Berkeley Bowl in the college town of Berkeley was also named the state's best grocery store. The store has bulk foods, baked goods and fresh meat, fish and produce. It also hosts a cafe with sandwiches, salads and sushi, among other food, the publication says.
Glenn Yasuda opened it in 1977 in the defunct bowling alley that shares its name, according to thestore's site. It now has two locations, with the second store opening on the west side of town in 2009.
