Atlanta Falcons QB Tua Tagovailoa is expected to be on a short leash if he is named the team's starting quarterback for Week 1's game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers Sept. 13. QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) has been recovering from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and appears likely to take over the starting role when he is completely healthy.

Huddle Up: The Falcons are the only NFL club that has not yet named their Week 1 starting quarterback, although a decision could be made by the time they return to practice early next week. Penix was cleared to resume practicing a few weeks ago but has not seen game action since getting injured last November. Regardless of whether Tagovailoa or Penix is under center for the season
opener, they should be viewed as nothing more than a QB2 option for fantasy leagues.
