Before the Iowa women's basketball season tipped off the 2026-27 season on Monday, Nov. 2, the team got a special gift.
Former Hawkeye All-American Caitlin Clark had Nike Caitlin 1s dropped off for every player on the roster. These were not just any pair of shoes either — they were black and gold Iowa colorways, featuring the school's Tigerhawk logo on the shoe's tongue.

Clark, of course, became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA Division I basketball history with 3,951 points at Iowa. She was a three-time first-team All-American and led the Hawkeyes and led the team to back-to-back NCAA national championship games.
The current Iowa team
is ranked No. 10 in the country and opened the season with a 73-45 victory over Towson at Carver-Hawkeye Arena on Monday. Georgia transfer Dani Carnegie scored 21 points including three 3-pointers to lead Iowa in scoring. McKenna Woliczko had 10 points and eight rebounds.
The Hawkeyes play host Eastern Illinois on Thursday, Nov. 5 before traveling to play No. 2 UConn in Storrs, Connecticut on Sunday, Nov. 8.
