The Seattle Seahawks have officially signed cornerback Terrion Arnold to a contract, they announced on Saturday, Aug. 29.

Arnold will begin his Seahawks tenure on the commissioner's exempt list as soon as the league receives his finalized contract, according to multiple reports. The cornerback will be ineligible to play but will still be paid.

The Detroit Lions cut their former player earlier this summer after he was arrested in June in connection with a kidnapping and robbery in Florida. Arnold faces eight felony charges – four for armed robbery and four for kidnapping – which carry a potential sentence of life in prison. Arnold has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Seattle swooped in with an offer that was initially reported on Aug. 13, though

it was not finalized until more than two weeks later with the team's official announcement.
