Card Vault by Tom Brady has opened its first Pennsylvania store in Pittsburgh’s Strip District, giving sports fans and collectors a new place to buy, sell and grade cards.
The store opened Sunday at The Terminal and is Card Vault’s 20th location nationwide, according to a community announcement.
Fans lined up before the opening to get a first look at the store’s collection of sports cards, memorabilia and non-sports collectibles. People who arrived before 10 a.m. could also enter a raffle for tickets to the Steelers-Browns game later that afternoon.
The company timed the grand opening to coincide with a major Pittsburgh sports event.
What Card Vault offers collectors
The Pittsburgh store carries single cards, sealed boxes, packs and collectibles from brands including Topps, Panini,
Upper Deck, Pokémon and Fanatics Authentic, according to the announcement.
Customers can also submit cards for professional grading through PSA, Beckett and SGC.
The location features Card Vault’s signature vault, with a rotating selection of autographed and authenticated memorabilia including helmets, jerseys, bats and balls.
Sid Das, the company's director of Store Launches & Operations, said Pittsburgh’s sports culture played a major role in choosing the city for the new location.
“I mean, you have the Steelers, the Penguins, the Pirates, the University of Pittsburgh Panthers. What better city would you want it?” Das said.
Das said Card Vault is designed for longtime collectors as well as people just getting started.
“We want everybody to come in to be able to buy, sell, send their cards for grading, for a one-stop shop,” Das said.
Tom Brady expected to visit Pittsburgh store
Brady did not attend the grand opening but is expected to visit the Pittsburgh location in the near future, according to the announcement.
The store also plans to host future events with Pittsburgh professional athletes and encourages Pittsburgh sports fans to follow their Instagram for those announcements.
