Atlanta drivers were left shocked late Sunday night after a driver's legs were seen dangling from a vehicle lodged under an overpass.
A 21-year-old driver of a Mercedes-Benz GLC was taking the I-20 East ramp traveling from the I-75/I-85 Atlanta Connector when he lost control, according to an incident reportfrom the Atlanta Police Department.
The driver hit a median that caused "his vehicle to flip over the median rail off the bridge," the report said.
The view from below showed the vehicle on its side with airbags deployed, and two feet sticking out from what appears to be the passenger side window.
Police said the driver was safely removed from the vehicle and transported to Grady Hospital. The vehicle was then removed using a crane.
The crash drew
a crowd from the stopped traffic, who quickly spread photos and videos of the driver on social media.
Fellow travelers Kalena Boykin and Michael Cunningham Jr. told WSB-TV in Atlanta they noticed traffic and went to check out what was wrong.
"At first we just saw a lot of traffic, like what's going on, construction? We look up, we see feet," Boykin told the outlet.
Additional details about the crash were not released by Atlanta Police.
