After more than three decades on air, a familiar face will be retiring from 6ABC Action News, the news outlet announced late Thursday.
Chief Meteorologist Cecily Tynan has spent more than 35 years in broadcast, according to 6ABC. Now, she'll be preparing for her last taping in the Philly market.
"I'm so honored to have been a member of the 6abc Action News team for more than three decades, starting as the station's first-ever weekend meteorologist, then becoming its first female chief meteorologist. I'm proud of the work we've done and thankful to 6abc viewers for trusting me with their weather forecasts," Tynan shared in the news station's announcement.
When did Cecily Tynan start at 6ABC?
Tynan started with 6ABC in 1995, the news station shared, working as a weekend weather anchor and general assignment reporter.
In 2009, she became the station's chief meteorologist, and for the last two years viewers have grown accustomed to seeing Tynan at the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. broadcasts.

Tynan's last broadcast is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 31.
