Pokémon fans want to "catch them all," so it's no surprise that people are waiting in line for hours to get a new trading card collection.
The Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG): 30th Celebration collection launched on Wednesday, Sept. 16, according to an article published on Pokémon's website. Retailers such as Target, Best Buy, Walmart and GameStop have the collection.
But fans who didn't wake up bright and early to wait outside of retailers may not be lucky enough to get their hands on packs of the new cards.
Here's what to know.
Pokémon fans looking to get the cards form lines

Fans could also buy the cards on the Pokémon Center's website, where Pokémon sells official merchandise and trading cards. But Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration packs, booster boxes and bundles have completely sold out.
Another chance to get the trading cards
Fans who couldn't get any of the TCG: 30th Celebration collection online or in person will have another chance with Walmart.
At 5 p.m. ET on Sept. 16, Walmart will hold a drawing and randomly select accounts that can purchase the collection.
To do so, fans must create a Walmart account, which has their preferred delivery address and payment method saved to the account, according to Walmart's website. If they are chosen, their order will be automatically saved using the default address and credit or debit card saved to the account.
The following Pokémon items will be sold via the drawings:
- Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration Poster Collection
- Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration Tech Sticker
- Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration Pokémon ex Box Bundle
- Pokemon TCG: 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box
What is different about the Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration collection?
Included in the collection are 30 different cards that feature a Pikachu illustration with 30 on his cheeks, according to Pokémon's website. It will also include new illustrations and new rare cards. Several fan favorites will also be returning.
Rare cards with the Pikachu illustration will include the following:
- Mew ex
- Moltres
- Kyogre
- Groudon
- Ho-Oh
The collection includes 199 cards, including 33 secret rares, reported Vice.
Cards are already being sold online for hundreds
Despite the release occurring on Sept. 16, cards from the collection have been selling online since the beginning of September.
One card, a Mew ex, sold on eBay for $900, not including shipping or other fees, according to the listing.
