Rams vs Cardinals expert picks
Adam Kaufman: Rams 34, Cardinals 20
The Rams need a get-right game. Conveniently, the Cardinals are coming to town. Los Angeles has spent enough time trading punches with contenders. Now Matthew Stafford gets an Arizona defense that should provide a much friendlier afternoon, even with the shortened turnaround after Monday night. The Cardinals can move the ball through Trey McBride and Michael Wilson, and Jeremiyah Love gives the offense a reason to stay patient. I just don't see enough defensive resistance to keep the Rams from eventually creating separation, especially after the way they fell to the Bills. The concern is asking Los Angeles to cover a huge number after an overtime game. Winning this matchup feels
considerably more straightforward. Give me Stafford, Puka Nacua, Davante Adams, Kyren Williams and enough explosive plays to put the Rams back in the win column.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: Rams 38, Cardinals 20
Watch out, Arizona. The Rams might take out the frustrations of a 2-3 start on their divisional foe. The Cardinals haven't proven nearly capable of offering any resistance to an attack with as much firepower as Los Angeles, let alone stopping one. Maybe this isn't the game in which Carson Beck will make his NFL debut for Arizona as he looks to take on a role as more than a mere emergency quarterback, but a blowout might bring that possibility closer to reality.
Nicholas Brinkerhoff: Rams 31, Cardinals 16
Perhaps the Rams aren't the super team that we thought. A 2-3 start to the season certainly isn't doing the team any favors. However, Matthew Stafford looked like a quarterback that started to find himself again in Week 5 against the Bills. The Cardinals are the get-right team for every NFC West team that feels down about themselves. That's just the reality of being the doormat in a loaded division. Sean McVay's crew takes out all their frustrations on the lowly Cardinals, winning by a big margin to cover up all the special teams mistakes.
