Ozzy Osbourne's last performance with Black Sabbath, which was livestreamed in July 2025, is coming to theaters.
"Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning," a concert film of the July 5, 2025, concert in Birmingham, England, will hit theaters beginning Oct. 28. The concert, which ran for 10 hours, culminated with the first performance by the original Black Sabbath lineup in 20 years: Ozzy Osbourne on vocals, Tony Iommi on guitar, Geezer Butler on bass, and Bill Ward on drums.
The event, held in the city that spawned Black Sabbath, featured hours of all-star tribute performances, with sets by Alice in Chains, Anthrax, Guns N Roses, Metallica, Pantera, and Slayer. The concert culminated with Osbourne performing several songs from his solo career
before joining his Black Sabbath bandmates to close the show.
Osbourne, who suffered from Parkinson's disease, performed sitting on an elaborate spooky throne. The singer, dubbed the "Prince of Darkness," wanted to have the special Ozzfest as a goodbye to his fans.
Osbourne died at the age of 76, 17 days after the reunion event.
"Back to the Beginning came about because I asked Ozzy what would really make him happy," said Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy's wife and manager, who oversaw the event, in a news release. "And he said the only thing that would make him happy was if he could perform again and say goodbye to his fans. That’s all he wanted to do. He wanted to say goodbye and thank you."

"Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning" will run as a special event in theaters worldwide beginning Oct. 28. Tickets go on sale Sept. 24 at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT at backtothebeginning.com.
Jason Momoa ("Aquaman" and "Game of Thrones") hosted the event, with Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello as musical director. Gojira, Mastodon and Tool were among the bands that played sets, while other performers included Andrew Watt, Billy Corgan, Chad Smith, Jake E. Lee, Ronnie Wood, Sammy Hagar, Steven Tyler, Travis Barker, Vernon Reid, and Yungblud.
"There’s never been anything like that that’s happened in the history of rock and roll," Morello said in a statement. "There’s never been a precedent for a show like this … (Black Sabbath) gets to play their final show basically in the Ground Zero of where they created heavy metal."
