LeBron James' wife, Savannah, is doubling down on volleyball with her latest move.
On Thursday, League One Volleyball (LOVB) Los Angeles shared Savannah is investing in the pro team. The Ohio native is one of several big names in LOVB Los Angeles's investor group, which includes actress, writer and producer Issa Rae, plus entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian,
husband of tennis legend Serena Williams, who owns the team."It was important to me to make my investment with LOVB Los Angeles because my daughter is a volleyball player," Savannah said. "She is coming up alongside amazing athletes who deserve the recognition that they are getting right now. So, any chance that I have to be able to support that or stand behind it and do things that matter in that way,
I am 1000% involved."
Savannah also told Boardroom that building for the next generation was important.
"As an entrepreneur, I believe in putting my time, resources, and voice behind women and the businesses creating opportunities for them. LOVB LA is creating a platform for women to lead, compete, and inspire the next generation," she said.
LOVB LA is one of four teams set to join the pro volleyball league in 2027. The California-based franchise will make its debut with LOVB Miami, LOVB Minnesota and the San Francisco Signal, bringing the league's total to 10 teams.
Early this year, the team announced Intuit Dome in Inglewood will serve as its home. The venue holds up to 18,500 spectators.
“Volleyball already has one of the largest and most passionate communities in Southern California. What it hasn't had is a professional stage that matches the scale of that fandom,” Ohanian said. “Intuit Dome gives us exactly that. We're building LOVB Los Angeles with the ambition to create one of the best live experiences in women's sports ― and there's no better place to do it than LA."
LOVB LA is expected to officially unveil its team name and brand on Friday, Sept. 25, 2026, marking off another milestone for the franchise after hiring José Roberto “Zé Roberto” Guimarães as its head coach.
