Bloomfield’s Little Italy Days is back on Liberty Avenue, bringing four days of Italian food, live entertainment, bocce and neighborhood celebration to Pittsburgh.
The festival runs Thursday, Aug. 13, through Sunday, Aug. 16, stretching along Liberty Avenue from Ella Street to Gross Street. Started in 2002, the event is now in its 24th year and regularly draws more than 100,000 visitors to Bloomfield. Admission is free.
Festival organizers say attendees can expect hundreds of food, craft and retail vendors, with Italian staples ranging from pasta, meatballs and sausage to cannoli, pizza and Italian desserts. The festival includes popular Pittsburgh names such as DiAnoia’s Eatery, Tambellini Event Catering and Caliente Pizza.
Beyond music, the weekend
includes a celebrity Italians-versus-Irish bocce challenge, a separate double-elimination bocce tournament, the Miss Little Italy Pageant and a Kids Fun Zone in the First Commonwealth Bank parking lot.
For parking, organizers ask visitors not to use permitted residential spaces. Festivalgoers are encouraged to use public transit, rideshare or available garages and bring lawn chairs for limited seating.
