Steelers vs Colts expert picks
Adam Kaufman: Steelers 24, Colts 20
Indianapolis returns from London. Pittsburgh's been resting since Thursday. That's a meaningful difference before we even get to the matchup. Jonathan Taylor powered the Colts past an injury-riddled Commanders team, but Daniel Jones threw for just 143 yards. I'm not convinced Indianapolis suddenly found another offensive gear. Aaron Rodgers has started producing more through the air, with three touchdown passes in each of his past two games. He just needs to clean up the picks. Pittsburgh's assignment is pretty straightforward: Contain Taylor and make Jones handle the tougher downs against its pass rush. At home, with extra preparation, I like the Steelers to bounce back and finish
a close one.
Michael Middlehurst-Schwartz: Steelers 27, Colts 20
After tensions boiled over in a frustrating primetime loss, Mike McCarthy took a look at the Steelers and concluded "our house is not clean." Pittsburgh's matchup with Indianapolis comes at the right time, as the Colts' lackluster defense and its league-worst pressure rate could help McCarthy and Aaron Rodgers get on the same page. Indianapolis' best hope is likely to race out to an early lead and lean on Jonathan Taylor throughout the contest, but things could get dicey if Daniel Jones has to ignite the aerial attack.
Blake Schuster: Steelers 28, Colts 20
Aaron Rodgers and Co. had 10 days to rest and retool after a disappointing Thursday Night loss in Cleveland. The Colts are on their way back from London after somehow giving up 317 yards to a Washington offense mostly led by third-string QB Athan Kaliakmanis. Advantage: Home team. On the bright side for Indy, the Shane Steichen era seems to be reaching its inevitable end.
