Troy Aikman confirmed Thursday that the ESPN announcer will be looking forward to "his next landing spot" after he calls the Super Bowl for the network on Feb. 14, 2027.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback also briefly addressed the Front Office Sports report that he and Joe Buck got into an argument before the "Monday Night Football" broadcast Oct. 12 between the Los Angeles Rams and Buffalo Bills
.Nobody watching would have known anything was amiss during the three-plus hour show that lasted until the game ended in overtime and featured 35 fourth-quarter points. But, according to FOS, Buck ‒ who agreed to a new deal with ESPN in September that will keep him at the "Worldwide Leader" into the 2030s and pay him nine figures cumulatively – broached
the topic of Aikman's expiring deal. An argument ensued, tensions cooled and the game went on.
"There’s probably a time and a place for all that," Aikman said on 96.7 The Ticket, a Dallas sports radio station. "I don’t know if now is the time. I don’t know if it’s hard to figure out kind of what happened. I’ll broadcast through this season and I’ll be a free agent at the end of the year and kind of see what happens. I’m looking forward to whatever the rest of this season does hold and the Super Bowl and all that and where my next landing spot may be."
ESPN's Troy Aikman did not deny the report of tension between him and Joe Buck this morning on @dfwticket, saying there’s a time and place to discuss it and now may not be it.

ESPN declined to comment about the incident. Buck and Aikman, who have called games together for 25 years and have described themselves as close friends, rescued the wayward "MNF" booth by joining the franchise together before the 2022 season.
Aikman will have no shortage of suitors should he actually hit the open market. The duo's next assignment will be Oct. 19, when the San Francisco 49ers host the Washington Commanders.
