Jacksonville, meanwhile, followed its Week 1 demolition of Cleveland by fading badly in Denver. Still, the Patriots have allowed only one offensive touchdown through two games, and Trevor Lawrence struggled under pressure last week. Mike Vrabel and Drake Maye are also 5-0 ATS together as road underdogs. I'll trust New England's defense to keep this close. Maybe the Patriots even steal it outright. Just don't blame me if they don't.

But New England's secondary can wrap up Jacksonville's receivers if the offense comes into form. It would be foolish to count out last year's AFC champs this early. The points may matter a lot in a matchup of two of the stingiest defenses through two weeks.

Why the Jaguars will cover the spread
New England bounced back from its ugly Week 1 loss to Seattle, but the Patriots' offense still leaves plenty to be desired. A.J. Brown remains on injured reserve, taking away Drake Maye's biggest weapon for at least another few weeks. Now it's Jacksonville's turn to bounce back after letting a second-half lead slip away against Denver. Trevor Lawrence has been particularly effective at home, and the Jaguars have more offensive weapons to lean on than New England right now. Jacksonville's offense will get back on track while its defense has a chance to capitalize on a Patriots offense averaging just 15 points per game. The Jags bounce back at home, get the win, and cover.
