Lamar Jackson is nearing a return to the field.
The Baltimore Ravens quarterback turned in another full practice on Friday, Oct. 30, putting him on track to play against the Buffalo Bills in Week 8. Jackson has been sidelined for the last three games with an ankle injury that he suffered in Week 4.
Head coach Jesse Minter told reporters on Monday, Oct. 26 that he thought Jackson would be in a decent spot to play this week, telling reporters, "If he's able to play … he will play."
The coach had a better update on the two-time NFL MVP's status on Friday, seemingly indicating that Jackson will be back barring something unforeseen.
Here's what to know.
Lamar Jackson injury update
Jackson is on track to return in Week 8.
"We do think we'll have Lamar this week," Minter told reporters
on Oct. 30. "I'm excited about that. He's had a really good week of practice."
Minter noted that the injury report will likely show that Jackson was a full participant in all three days and the coach gave credit to his quarterback for the work he put in to return.
Jackson told reporters on Oct. 30 that he still feels pain when planting his foot and he sat out Week 7 due to his ankle swelling again. The quarterback did say that he is doing better though.
"I feel like I'm no longer a statue," Jackson said, via ESPN's Jamison Hensley.
