Antonee Robinson was not present in the Fulham matchday squad for a Premier League match against Ipswich Town on Saturday, Oct. 10.
Robinson played in all four matches with the U.S. men's national team in the recent international window, starting twice as the U.S. won all four games.
But the left back suffered an ankle injury in training upon return to Fulham this week.
“He had some issues with his ankle yesterday, but we will see later, I don't know right now. I have no idea,” Fulham coach Álvaro Arbeloa said in his pre-match press conference on Friday, Oct. 9.
“I think he will be available, but I have to make a decision if I think he's ready for 90 minutes or he will just start on the bench. Right now I can't answer."
But the match against Ipswich
appears to have come too soon for Robinson, who has again been a key figure for the Cottagers early in the season.
The 29-year-old started all five league matches for Fulham prior to Saturday. Fulham went into the Ipswich match still looking for its first league win, having lost three and drawn two games.
Both Fulham and the USMNT will hope to have Robinson fit as soon as possible. The USMNT is next in action in November as it faces Haiti in a two-leg Concacaf Nations League quarterfinal.
