New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson has earned many monikers over the years, including All-Star, clutch, and world champion, after helping end a 53-year title drought and giving Knicks fans something to cherish for a lifetime.
Now you can call him Detective.
Brunson, the Finals MVP, used that newly cemented legendary status to land two nice acting gigs over the offseason. He hosted "Saturday Night Live" on Sept. 26, and his much-talked-about appearance on "Law & Order: SVU" will air Nov. 5.
A preview of next week's episode, titled "Forsaken", dropped and it shows Brunson being introduced as he is speaking with Olivia Benson, played by Knicks superfan Mariska Hargitay.
In the clip, Brunson plays a character named Detective Madison, and his only line
in the promo is "Hey, Captain."
It's a safe bet Brunson will have more than two words of dialogue in his appearance in the fifth episode of Season 28, but his teammate Josh Hart might have foreseen things to come when he rated Brunson's acting chops following his SNL appearance.
“I think his performance was fine. I don't think he has a future in acting," Hart said.
The SVU episode will air at 9 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.
