The Chicago Bears look to bear down and defend home turf against the Philadelphia Eagles in their Week 3 "Monday Night Football" meeting (8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN).
While this would have been circled as a marquee quarterback matchup a few weeks ago, the injury to budding star passer Caleb Williams has put the Bears in a precarious position entering Monday night. Now, Case Keenum will take his shot to restart the offense after a 3-point performance doomed them in Week 2.
Keenum has some familiarity in the division and helped keep the ship afloat some years ago with the Minnesota Vikings. But the Eagles might prove to be a more difficult opponent.
While the Bears offense went quiet, the Eagles have had a quiet start to their 2026 season at 2-0, with wins
over the Washington Commanders and Tennessee Titans already on the docket. They have a chance to keep it rolling against a backup quarterback on Monday Night Football, even on the road.
Maybe some of that silence is due to the end of the A.J. Brown saga with the wide receiver now in New England. In any case, Philadelphia has been uncharacteristically business-as-usual heading into Week 3.

It's a measuring-stick game for both NFC hopefuls in primetime.
The Bears have been a tale of two teams entering Week 3: Are they the team who put up a 59-point explosion in Week 1, or the offensively futile team that lost to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 2? The NFL viewing public probably won't get an answer in Week 3 with Bagent taking the field in relief of the injured Williams.
The viewing public should also get a better idea of what the Eagles are with a good litmus test in the Eagles. Philadelphia has looked unspectacular, but along with that, they've quietly glided to two wins to start their season. Maybe some of that is those who are no longer with the organization anymore. For now, the Eagles are 2-0 and sit atop the NFC East.

Veteran tight end Zach Ertz, signed to Philadelphia's practice squad last week, is active for the Monday, Sept. 28, game against the Chicago Bears. Dallas Goedert is inactive after spraining his MCL against the Tennessee Titans on Sept. 20.
Ertz was a second-round draft pick by the Eagles in 2013 and spent nine seasons in Philadelphia, winning a Super Bowl title. He was traded to the Arizona Cardinals mid-season in 2021 and spent two years there before joining the Washington Commanders for the last two seasons.
Now 35 and coming off a torn ACL suffered last December, Ertz had remained a free agent until the Eagles signed him Sept. 21.
