Even after attending a US Open match in New York that ended in the dead of night, Trinity Rodman was back in training with the Washington Spirit on Wednesday, Sept. 9.
Rodman was in New York supporting
her boyfriend Ben Shelton as he defeated Carlos Alcaraz in five sets in an epic quarterfinal. The match started late on Tuesday night and didn't end until 3:33 a.m. ET on Wednesday.
Even after a late night nearly 300 miles from the Spirit's training facility in suburban Virginia, Rodman did not miss out on her team's training session.
Rodman posted a brief TikTok video on Wednesday including an elevator selfie with a 4:14 a.m. timestamp. At the end, though, she appeared at the Spirit's training facility with her gear on.
"Yes I'm at training now," Rodman wrote.
Rodman has been a fixture at Shelton's matches at the US Open thus far. With her home base in nearby Washington D.C., the Spirit forward has been able to shuttle back and forth over the past two weeks.
But Rodman will be in for a major conflict should Shelton defeat fellow American Frances Tiafoe in the semifinal on Friday, Sept. 11.
The Spirit play the Boston Legacy at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday, Sept. 13. That game in Washington begins just an hour before the US Open final in New York, which is set for 2 p.m. ET.
