Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Baker Mayfield suffered an apparent injury to his throwing hand late in his team's Week 3 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
Mayfield's injury occurred as he attempted a fourth-and-13 pass shortly after the two-minute warning. The veteran quarterback was trying to scramble backward away from pressure but eventually had to release a pass with several Vikings bearing down on him.
Mayfield got off a pass but was hit as he threw. His right thumb bent awkwardly after he attempted the pass, and he remained down after the play.
Mayfield received medical attention on the field following his play. He was able to walk off the field under his own power but was clutching his right hand. He headed straight for the blue medical tent for further
evaluation.
Mayfield was not in on the Buccaneers' ensuing possession. Tampa Bay's backup quarterbakc, undrafted rookie Jalon Daniels, took the field in his stead.

The Buccaneers did not immediately provide an update on Mayfield's status.
Mayfield completed 17 of 34 passes for 217 yards, one touchdown and one interceptions before leaving the game. He also added six rushing yards on two carries.
