Manufacturer FCA US, LLC has recalled more than 300,000 vehicles because of a problem that could increase the risk of a crash.
According to a recall notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, certain vehicles are recalled due to an issue with the rear coil springs.
"The rear coil springs may be incorrectly installed and detach from the vehicle while driving," the notice says.

Which models are potentially affected?
According to the NHTSA, 328,381 Chrysler vehicles are potentially affected by the recall.
The models included are:
- 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee
- 2022-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4XE
- 2021-2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee L
The recall number is 89D. It replaces two previous recalls identified under NHTSA as: 26V051 and 23V413.
What should car owners do?
Car owners are advised to take their vehicle to the dealership, where the rear coil spring lower isolators could be replaced at no charge. This includes those who got their car remedied for a previous recall.
Notification letters about the safety risk will be sent out on Sept. 29. Another letter will be sent out at a later date.
