New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara suffered an apparent injury in his team's "Monday Night Football" game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Kamara was injured after his legs were rolled up while he was tackled on a carry in the third quarter. The veteran did not require medical attention on the field but limped to the sideline.
Kamara received treatment in the blue medical tent but was later seen walking on the sideline. He did not return to the game during the drive and did not have his helmet after leaving the medical tent.
Kamara remained on the sideline at the beginning of the Saints' ensuing drive but eventually made his way back onto the field.
Alvin Kamara injury update
The Saints originally announced Kamara was "questionable" to return because of a knee injury.
However, he returned to action just before the end of the quarter, taking over at the running back position and being targeted by Tyler Shough on a ball that was tipped.
Kamara generated 47 total yards and a touchdown on nine touches (five carries, four receptions) before exiting the game. He will look to build on that as the "Monday Night Football" matchup continues.
This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
