Taylor Swift can see it all now: nine VMA nominations and a first-of-its-kind honor.
Swift will receive the inaugural MTV VMA Artist Director Honors at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sept. 27 in Los Angeles, CBS and MTV announced. The new award recognizes music artists whose work behind the camera has advanced music videos and visual storytelling.
No word on whether she will attend the ceremony.
The honor breaks a tie atop the VMA record books between Swift and Beyoncé, who each had 30 career wins. Swift is now the most decorated artist in the show's history.
Swift is a seven-time VMA nominee for best direction and has won the category four times. Her directing credits include "The Fate of Ophelia," "Opalite," "The Man," "cardigan," "willow,"
"All Too Well: The Short Film," "Anti-Hero," "Bejeweled" and "Fortnight," featuring Post Malone.
She could add to her VMA collection during the ceremony. Swift has nine competitive nominations this year, including video of the year and artist of the year. "The Fate of Ophelia" accounts for seven nominations, while "Opalite" earned Swift another nomination for best direction.

Snoop Dogg will host the 2026 VMAs, airing live Sept. 27 from 7:30-9:30 p.m. ET on CBS, simulcasting on MTV and streaming on Paramount+.
